about the artist
i am an ecological illustrator, land steward, and dancer focused on creating life on earth through connection to the natural world.
growing up in the foothills of the blue ridge mountains, i studied architecture at the university of virginia, falling in love with the process of meeting and supporting ecosystems through drawing and designing.
i have spent the past few years stewarding land-based projects in the semi-arid pinelands of colorado, while traveling internationally in the winters. i deeply enjoys facilitating connection with the natural world by teaching classes in botanical illustration, nature journaling, and working in ecological restoration.
my process of creation involves traveling to new ecosystems, and spending slow time meeting and interpreting ecological phenomena around me. i document each ecosystem through specimen samples, diagrams, and landscape sketches to create compositions that seek to embody the spirit of the place.
i do commission work for those interested in creating nature-inspired pieces within their
eco-region. reach out if you have an idea!
